Scarsdale Solicitors website, rebuilt by Luminous for a UK law firm
Scarsdale Solicitors: a UK law firm website rebuild from the Luminous portfolio.

Search work starts with a plain question: can Google reach, read and understand the pages that sell your service? Luminous improves service pages, crawl access, internal links and local search presence, then measures the result in inquiries.

We work on the site you have. That can mean fixing a technical block, rewriting pages that try to sell everything at once, or adding pages that answer questions your customers search for before they buy.

For related work, explore the Scarsdale Solicitors website rebuild for a UK law firm, and our investigation into a hosting firewall that blocked Googlebot on Freshly Folded's site. We also own and run LaundrySEO, a search business for laundry operators. Search results depend on the market, the competition and where a site starts, so these projects show the work rather than a promised outcome.

What we work on

Search problems and the work that addresses them
ProblemWhat we do
Google cannot crawl or index important pagesCheck server responses, robots rules, rendering, canonical tags and sitemaps, then fix what blocks access.
One page tries to rank for every serviceGive each service a page that explains its scope, process, proof and next step.
Pages compete with each other for the same searchDecide which page owns each search, then adjust titles, content and links to match.
Local customers cannot find the businessTidy the Google Business Profile, service areas and location details, and connect them to the relevant pages.
The site does not answer customers' questionsWrite guides for the questions people search before buying, each linked to the service it relates to.

What the first month covers

  1. Audit access and indexing. Crawl the site, review Search Console and fix anything that stops important pages being indexed.
  2. Map searches to pages. Match the searches that lead to work with the page that should rank for each one.
  3. Fix the priority pages. Rewrite titles, descriptions and content on the pages closest to producing inquiries.
  4. Set up measurement. Track form submissions, calls and bookings, so search traffic is judged by the inquiries it brings.

Later months follow what the data shows: more service pages, supporting guides, internal links and profile work.

Measure inquiries, not only rankings

Rankings move daily and vary by location and device. We report Search Console clicks and impressions for the searches that matter, and the qualified inquiries those pages produce. A page that ranks well but brings the wrong visitors needs different work from a page that ranks lower and converts.

Local search and AI answers

Google ranks local results on relevance, distance and prominence, as set out in its local ranking guidance. A business can improve relevance and prominence; distance stays fixed. Our Business Profile setup guide covers the profile work in detail.

Google states that the same fundamentals apply to its AI features: pages that can be crawled, indexed and understood, with useful content. See its guidance on AI features. We do not sell special markup for AI answers, because Google says none is required.

Connect search to the rest of the journey

Search brings visitors; the page and the follow-up turn them into customers. If you also run paid campaigns, see Google Ads management and landing pages. For rebuilds and new pages, see web development. For what happens after someone submits a form, see CRM setup and automation.

For sector-specific work, see our pages for law firms and med spas. If you are comparing proposals, the law firm SEO cost guide lists what each one should include.

Questions about SEO

How long does SEO take to show results?

Technical fixes can show in Search Console within weeks of Google recrawling the pages. New pages and content take longer, depending on the competition and how often Google revisits the site. We agree the measures and review dates at the start.

Do you guarantee rankings?

No. Nobody controls Google's rankings. We commit to the work, the reporting and a clear explanation of what changed and why.

Should we create a page for every city we serve?

Only where each page has something distinct and useful for that place. Google's spam policies treat near-identical location pages as doorway pages. We build location pages around real differences, or not at all.

Do you work with specific industries?

Yes. Most of our search work is for service businesses, including law firms, med spas, home services and laundry operators. Sector rules, such as advertising and professional conduct requirements, shape the pages we write.
